You can report a pothole and check on current pothole repairs via the Herefordshire Potholes Map, on the Council website.
NOTE: before making a report please check the Potholes and Roads Defect Progress Map as it may already be logged into the system.

For major damage to the road surface, such as extensive pothole or surface damage, blown out or blocked drains, broken road signs, etc., you can report online via the Roads and Pavement section of the Herefordshire website. Before submitting your report please check the Progress Map to learn if the defect has already been reported.
Herefordshire Council offer an unfunded scheme by which parishes may employ local contractors to help with verge maintenance on non-principal roads (C roads and unclassified roads only). This is called The Lengthmans Scheme. The Lengthsman Scheme is designed to support communities who can then use local knowledge to act swiftly in response to specific local maintenance issues.
Under the scheme a local contractor may be appointed to look after minor highway verge maintenance operations in the parish. The Lengthsman’s typical rounds include:
A typical annual expenditure is as follows:
£1500 – Drain and gulley clearing
£700 – Stream Clearance in Dorstone
£300 – Strimming and Mowing
£100 – Cleaning and clearing roadside signs
This represents a total annual expenditure of approximately £2600, funded entirely from the parish precept

The maintenance of paths is largely managed by the parish council and respective land owners to ensure that the local path network is kept open and usable for the public to enjoy.
The Parish Paths Office (PPO), in conjunction with Herefordshire’s Public Rights of Way Warden, and respective landowners, is responsible for coordinating work carried out under the scheme. Areas of responsibility include the maintenance of:
